The Fall Color in the Minnesota River Valley workshop will have us out in the Big Woods of Minnesota for late day and sunrise photowalks, capturing the beauty of autumn in the Minnesota River Valley. The locations visited on this workshop include the heavily wooded Rush River County Park and the 19th century working farm at the Ney Nature Center. We will also make images on location at the Hen House, taking advantage of the historic structures and the country ambiance, enhanced by the Hen House's namesake residents, the hens of the Hen House. Classroom sessions will be held in the 1850s vintage log cabin on the Hen House property.
In Fall Color in the Minnesota River Valley you will learn tips and techniques to help you capture the rich warm tones of the autumn landscape as you are seeing them rather than how the camera interprets them. You will also learn compositional techniques to help you capture compelling images in a seemingly chaotic scene. Back in our one-room schoolhouse, the Hen House log cabin, you will learn methods for editing and post-processing your images in Lightroom and Apple Photos.
The workshop fee is $350 for couples and $250 for singles. This fee covers the workshop plus a night at the Hen House and all meals and refreshments. Hen House Photography Workshops are structured a bit like a prix fixe tasting menu. For one set price, each person can take part in whatever they wish.
Check-in is 1 p.m. on the first day. The workshop will run until around 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of the second day. All Hen House Photography Workshops finish with an image review session, followed by a closing party in the Hen House cabin, including refreshments and a slideshow of your favorite images from the workshop.
